Greater Noida, 18th October 2024 — Galgotias University, in partnership with IIT Kanpur and IEEE UP Section, successfully hosted the 2024 IEEE All India Computer Society Student and Young Professional Congress (AICSSYC) for the first time in the northern region. This three-day event, centered on the theme “Connecting Leaders, Innovators, and Young Minds on a Single Ground,” attracted over 300 participants from diverse fields across India.

The congress provided a platform for students, young professionals, and industry leaders to share insights and showcase innovations. The event featured expert talks, startup pitching sessions, a tech panel discussion, and numerous networking opportunities, with a focus on emerging fields such as IoT, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, and Data Science.

Distinguished International Guests:

Melissa Russell, IEEE Computer Society, highlighted valuable resources available through digital libraries, conferences, and AI workshops.

Michelle Tubb shared insights into the role of sales and marketing in organizational success.

Dr. Eric Berkowitz emphasized the importance of mentoring, fostering student memberships, and promoting educational collaboration within IEEE.

Dr. Yogesh S. Chauhan and Dr. J. Ramkumar, from IIT Kanpur, led sessions on design thinking and innovative problem-solving techniques.

Dr. Avadhesh Kumar, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Galgotias University, discussed the university’s commitment to a student-centric learning environment, highlighting the visionary leadership of Suneel Galgotia and CEO Dr. Dhruv Galgotia.

A startup pitching session allowed students to present business models in IoT, AI/ML, Blockchain, Drones, and Data Science. Industry professionals, such as Mr. Shivam, Engineering Lead at ZS, and Mr. Nikky Jha, CEO of Saptkrishi Pvt Ltd, provided valuable feedback to the young innovators.

The Tech Panel Session focused on the rise of AI, addressing concerns about job displacement while highlighting opportunities for self-employment. Students were encouraged to embrace AI as a tool for solving real-world challenges, with an emphasis on learning from failures.

Session 2 Highlights:

Prof. Hironori Washi Zaki, President of IEEE Computer Society, delivered a keynote on Advanced Technology for Humanity. Jayakumar, IIT Bombay, explored the applications of Digital Signal Processing.

Prof. S.N. Singh, IIT Kanpur, discussed the evolving roles in the engineering profession.

Prof. Sri Niwas Singh, Director of ABV-IIITM, addressed the importance of reconfiguring roles within modern engineering.

The congress also hosted panel discussions on topics like Green Computing, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), Data Science, and Financial Planning, offering students valuable insights into technology’s intersection with business and law.

Entirely managed by Galgotias University students, the event showcased their organizational skills, creativity, and commitment to fostering innovation. The success of AICSSYC 2024 underscores Galgotias University’s growing global reputation as a hub for young innovators, providing opportunities to engage with leading academic and industry figures.
