Galgotias University Hosts Inspiring Hackathon and Orientation Session

Galgotias University organized an impactful Hackathon and Orientation session in collaboration with its Polytechnic Department and Vyom Institution, alongside the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) and the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB) under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.

The primary objective of this event was to foster innovation, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and an entrepreneurial mindset among students. Additionally, it aimed to introduce students to the Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) conducted by NIESBUD.

The program commenced at 11:00 AM with an inauguration ceremony, featuring motivational speeches from representatives of Galgotias University, Vyom, and NIESBUD, along with distinguished chief guests. In his address, Mr. Nitesh, Placement Head of ESSCI, highlighted the importance of skill development for employability. Dr. A.K. Garg, former Director of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, emphasized the role of innovation in contributing to national development.

Mr. Kapil Parashar, Director of Vyom Institution Group, shed light on entrepreneurship and technological advancements. Mr. Mohit Geharwar, Dean of Galgotias Polytechnic, delivered an inspiring speech on the significance of technical and vocational education. Dr. Rajeev Sharma, Program Chair of the Computer Science and Engineering Department and coordinator of the event, stressed the importance of the EDP in nurturing technical and innovative skills among students.

A key highlight of the event was a 90-hour certificate course sponsored by the Government of India and NIESBUD. This course included workshops on topics such as business planning, marketing, and management conducted by industry experts, equipping students with essential tools for their entrepreneurial journey.

Led by Mr. Mohit Gaharwar and Dr. Rajeev Sharma, the program left a lasting impression on the students. This initiative marked another milestone in Galgotias University’s commitment to encouraging the next generation in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship.
