Galgotias University Unveils India’s First Active Learning Building, Hosts Int’l Conf with NTU Singapore delegates

19th November, Greater Noida – Galgotias University marked a transformative milestone today with the inauguration of its newly constructed Active Learning Space, a building designed to foster collaborative and innovative learning. The inauguration took place amidst a gathering of eminent delegates from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, QS Quacquarelli Symonds, and Times Higher Education (THE).
The event also featured the university’s international conference on Reshaping Teaching and Learning Paradigms, which brought together global scholars, educators, and thought leaders to explore new directions in education.
A Revolutionary Approach to Education
The Active Learning Space—India’s first of its kind—represents a shift from traditional classrooms to interactive hubs where ideas are exchanged and critical thinking is nurtured. Developed to align with the National Education Policy (NEP), this space emphasizes the integration of technology, human interaction, and interdisciplinary approaches to redefine classroom learning.

Highlighting the occasion, Chancellor Suneel Galgotia remarked, “The seeds we plant today will grow into a forest of possibilities tomorrow. This is just the beginning of a transformative journey in education.”

Prof. Gan Chee Lip, from NTU, delivered a keynote address outlining the university’s transformative journey and the importance of global partnerships in shaping the future of education.

- Prof. Richard James from Melbourne University, who elaborated on the Galgotias Student-Centered Active Learning Ecosystem (GSCALE) transformation.
- Assoc. Prof. Ian Dixon, who explored cross-cultural storytelling between India and Australia, showcasing the integration of Indian and Western cinematic traditions as tools for cultural exchange.
- Dr. Ho Shen Yong, whose session on AI in education provided a balanced perspective on its potential and challenges.
