#GATEResult2017: Selection Criteria for Different #PSU

GATE Result 2017 will be declared on the official website on March 27. The candidates who will be able to access their results of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2017  online. GATE 2017 is one of the prominent aptitude exams for the graduate engineers who want to pursue their career in public sector units including NTPC, BHEL, BEL, IOCL, OIL, BPCL, BSNL, SAIL, ONGC, and various others. The marks obtained by the aspirants in GATE 2017, will open up the government job opportunity in the public sector units. Candidates belonging to engineering background will get the wonderful government job opportunities in renowned public sector units.

Candidates should note that their selection will be based on the vacancies of a particular Circle as per the preference of the candidate. The aspirants have to choose one circle while filling the application and will be considered for the same. Candidates should keep a note that shortlisted candidates will be called up for the document verification process.The mode of selection is through Valid GATE SCORE-2017 which has been conducted by IIT Roorkee, in the month of February 2017. Lets us discuss the selection criteria for the different PSU’s.

The recruitment process and selection in most of the PSU is through GATE 2017, which comprise of two stages:

  1. Shortlist candidates on the basis of GATE 2017 Score
  2. Personal Interview or Group Discussion

Weightage of Different Stages in PSU’s: Generally, the weightage of different stages for the selection of the candidates in PSU is provided below:

  1. GATE Score: 60% to 80%
  2. Personal Interview: 15 to 30%
  3. Group Discussion: 10 to 20%

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of the candidates in various undergraduate subjects in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and post-graduate level subjects in Science. The GATE score of a candidate reflects a relative performance level in a particular subject in the examination across several years.
