Gautam Buddha Nagar Administration Invokes Gangster Act against land encroachers, 61 hectare land freed in district!

NOIDA :  Gautam Buddha Nagar administration has acted strongly against large number of land encroachers in the district and managed to free around 61 hectare of land since May 2017. The figure is in addition to about 80 hectare of Air force land that has been freed from encroachment in last two days.

Wide scale encroachment of government land has been one of the major issues that had gripped the district since very long time. After an administrative order was issued in May 2017 by state government to create task force in every district to fight this menace, Gautam Buddh Nagar district administration has been tackling it with iron fists.

Talking about the action taken on various persons identified to be indulged in land encroachment activities GB Nagar DM BN Singh said, “In first stage we had identified 90 people involved in large scale land encroachment activities and filed 71 FIR’s under different sections of IPC. Goonda Act was also invoked on 31 of these people. In second stage 27 more people were identified and action was taken against them. District administration has been regularly in touch with all three authorities to identify such anti-social elements”.

List of 47 Land Encroachers Forwarded to Chief Secretary
DM BN Singh further informed that chief secretary has asked for top 10 encroachers of the district however when different authorities and officials were consulted the large scale violations were found much more than that. Henceforth a list jointly signed by DM and SSP and containing 47 land encroachers and 25 land encroachment cases was sent to the Chief Secretary in this regard.

Speaking about effect of strict action against land encroachment in the district DM BN Singh said, “In total about 61 hectare of land has been freed from encroachment in the district so far. This includes 20.32 hectare of land from Dadri, 18.5 hectare of land from Sadar and 23.32 hectare of land from Jewar area”.

In one of the strictest action District Administration has also invoked Gangster act in two cases of land encroachment. In first case 2 people were booked under the act whereas in second case 10 people have been booked under the same. Gangster act was invoked against Rambhool Singh and 9 others from Ghadhi Chaukhandi area of Noida on Friday.
Speaking about the same SSP Love Kumar said, “Rambhool Singh had encroached upon large chunk of Noida Authority land near FNG. FIR’s regarding the same has been registered by work circle engineer of Noida Authority. After probe police had filled charge sheet and given the serious nature of the crime it was decided to invoke Gangster act against those involved in this particular case”.

SSP further added, “We want to give a clear message to land encroachers that swift and strict action will be taken against one and all in phase wise manner. This is an on-going process and every anti-social element will be identified and punished on case to case basis”.

He also informed that city’s infamous parking mafia is also being targeted in the same way and 16 people have been arrested for illegal parking. Goonda act was also invoked against 3 of these persons after they were found engulfed in organized crime.
