Gautam Buddha University held its 1st convocation ceremony on April 12, 2016 in its huge Auditorium where a total of 29 doctoral degrees, 6 Chancellor’s Gold Medal to over all University Toppers, and 66 Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medal to each Discipline Toppers (2010 tom 2015) and 1352 passed out students of Integrated B.Tech-M.Tech/MBA, MA, M. Sc., Masters, degrees of academic session 2013 to 2015 were awarded. In an endeavor to develop alternative methods to create a future of sustainable development through specialized education, Gautam Buddha University graduates today and to pledged to uphold the vision of the University to create a vibrant community of intellectuals and entrepreneurs endowed with Character, Creativity, Competence and commitment, who can inspire meaningful transformations to ensure holistic growth and  evelopment of the society.Commencing the convocation ceremony, Shri Kamaal Akhtar, Hon’ble Minister and Chancellor’s Representative, said “I would like to congratulate the students who are graduating today. The day has come when we should be driven by not by what we have today but a vision of future. We, together, need to make every single effort possible to live up to the expectations and aspirations of society. I am confident that the graduates go out equipped with new values and ethics and work hard to meet the challenges world is facing.”Addressing the gathering, Mr. Alok Ranjan Jee, Chief Secretary, Government of Uttar Pradesh and Chairman, Board of Governor has said “It is indeed a privilege to be here to distribute the hard earned degrees to the young students who are going to contribute in society with their intellect and hard work for the prosperity of their family and society. It is important to encourage innovations and the young talentpool of this country must strive to develop new applications for public services. I am convinced that the graduates passing out today will show the way forward. I must take this opportunity to convey to them that the real learning starts today.” He added “Going forward, we need the assistance of institutions like GBU to advise us on various issues related to sustainable development to ensure a sustainable future of the state” Dr. J. P. Sharma, Vice Chancellor of the University said “It is an emotional moment for me. GBU is a evolving University in the state and trying hard to become a centre of repute not only in India but on international level. I am extremely glad to see that the young India is full of enthusiasm. This is an indication that the future of India is passing on to a bunch of successful young talents. I wish all the graduates all the best for their future endeavors”.Shri Amarnath Upadhyaya, Registrar, GBU said “I congratulate the graduates and wish them all the best of the future. I am confident that they will be coming up with cutting edge initiatives to deal with various issues that the world is facing and be able to meet up societal needs in the future”Prof. Anuradha Mishra, Dean Academics and Chairperson, Exam and Admission, Gautam Buddha University said “The expectations from the students after completing their education at GBU would be very large and I hope that they would contribute to make India and the world better places to live in.”Gautam Buddha University students undergo training and internships with government, multilateral and multinational agencies as a part of academic curriculum.
