Gautam Buddha University Launches MICRO2026 International Conference

Greater Noida News (26/04/2026): Gautam Buddha University marked a significant milestone in academic and technological advancement with the inauguration of the 13th International Conference on Microelectronics, Circuits and Systems (MICRO2026) at its Main Auditorium. The conference is being organized by the School of Information and Communication Technology (SoICT) in collaboration with Applied Computer Technology (ACT), Kolkata, and Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), with sponsorship support from ANRF, SERB, and DRDO.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by eminent dignitaries, with Prof. Ranjana Jha, Vice Chancellor of IGDTUW, gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest. In her address, she emphasized the importance of academic partnerships and expressed confidence in continued collaboration between IGDTUW and Gautam Buddha University for future initiatives. The event was presided over by Prof. Rana Pratap Singh, Vice Chancellor of Gautam Buddha University.

The conference attracted a diverse and international audience, bringing together academicians, researchers, scientists, and industry experts from across India and countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Canada, and Australia. With participation in both offline and virtual modes, MICRO2026 has emerged as a vibrant global forum for exchanging ideas, fostering innovation, and encouraging interdisciplinary research.

The inaugural session commenced with a traditional Saraswati Pooja, followed by a welcome address delivered by Dr. Arpit Bhardwaj, Dean of SoICT. A key highlight of the ceremony was the unveiling of the conference souvenir by Prof. Dulal Acharjee, Director of ACT; Dr. Seema Vinayak, Director of DIA-COIE; Prof. Rajeev Varshney, Dean of Academic Affairs; and Dr. Vidushi Sharma, General Chair of MICRO2026.

During the session, Dr. Seema Vinayak and Prof. Rajeev Varshney underlined the growing relevance of sensors and semiconductor technologies in strengthening India’s position in the global technology ecosystem.

In his presidential address, Prof. Rana Pratap Singh stressed the need to promote research-led innovation and enhance collaboration between academia and industry. He also highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in addressing emerging technological challenges and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to global academic excellence.

Delivering the keynote address, Prof. Ranjana Jha called for intensified research efforts in microelectronics, sustainable technologies, and innovation-driven education to meet future demands.

An awards ceremony formed an integral part of the event, recognizing outstanding contributions in research and innovation. Prof. Rana Pratap Singh was honored with the prestigious Vidyasagar Award for his exemplary contributions to academia and research. The Prof. Lotfi Zadeh Award was conferred upon Dr. Brijesh Kumar, Registrar of IGDTUW, while the Young Scientist Award was presented to Dr. Pavan Sudarshi Mukku from Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, several young researchers and scientists from various countries were felicitated for their work across multiple domains.

Highlighting the conference’s vision, Heads of Departments from the School of ICT—Dr. Vidushi Sharma, Dr. Neeta Singh, and Dr. Arun Solanki—stated that MICRO2026 aims to provide a dynamic platform for students and researchers to present their work and engage with leading experts from academia and industry.

The successful organization of the conference was made possible under the guidance of faculty convenors Dr. Priyanka Goyal, Dr. Mangal Das, and Dr. Vivek Chaudhary, along with coordinators Dr. Aarti Gautam Dinkar, Dr. Vimlesh Kumar Ray, Dr. Anurag Singh Baghel, Dr. Pradeep Tomar, and Dr. Rajesh Mishra, supported by the dedicated faculty team of SoICT.

The inaugural ceremony concluded with the felicitation of guests, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Vidushi Sharma, formally marking the successful commencement of MICRO2026.
