Nagendra Pratap Singh, District magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar completes two years in office today.
The officer with the ‘down to earth’ personality has served the state of Uttar Pradesh in a number of top positions . He has eradicated number of social evils from the Gautam Budh Nagar district.
The issue of illegal mining of sand from the flood plains of Yamuna was stopped by him. Even sometimes Singh used to take private cars to check the illegal mining in the district. Sand mining affects the ecology of a river and is a lucrative business for those involved in it. No sooner the news of Singh’s 2 service in the district broke out; the topic began to trend on social network sites. Congratulatory messages on Whatsapp groups in Noida and Facebook began pouring and the people not only from Noida congratulated the most popular officer but people from other states definitely felt the sense of accomplishment for the same.

On Sept 4 last year, he has given us a new slogan ‘ BETI HI BACHAYEGI’ which was adopted by BIMTECH as its yearlong social campaign,” Director said.

Singh had also served the deputy chief executive officer of Noida Authority during Mayawati’s regime and was instrumental in settling farmer issues that time.
