‘Tortured’ girl’s autopsy inconclusive

GHAZIABAD: The autopsy report of the eight-year-old mentally-challenged girl, who died after allegedly being tortured by her maternal relatives on Tuesday morning, has failed to throw light on the exact cause of her death. The report maintains no signs of injury were visible on the girl’s body, police said.
Cops said the report states the girl died of ‘unknown reasons’. “The girl’s viscera have been preserved. No signs of injury were visible on the body, as per the postmortem report. This makes the allegations, that her maternal relatives had physically tortured her, false. There are references in the report, though that she had been suffering from some sort of liver ailment” said DSP Rajesh Kumar Pandey.
