GHAZIABAD: Residents of trans-Hindon areas will have a long and hot week ahead, starting May 14. The power department has planned to begin its capacity enhancement exercise, replacing a 160kV transformer by a 200kV unit in Sahibabad, which will cause erratic power supply till May 21.

The department says though they will try to keep power cuts in residential areas down to a minimum, the exercise will ensure a more reliable supply in the following months. Irregular power supply is expected to hit 2.5 lakh consumers in Vaishali, Vasundhara, Kaushambhi, Indirapuram, Shahibabad, Mohan Nagar, Lajpat Nagar, Arthala and Delta Colony.
