Greater Noida News (21/01/2026): Startups incubated at the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, emerged as key highlights on the opening day of the three-day UP MedTech Launch Event, as five GIMS-supported ventures showcased their healthcare innovations through dedicated exhibition stalls.

Organised by the UP Promotion Pharma Council, the event aims to strengthen the medical technology and healthcare innovation ecosystem across Uttar Pradesh by bringing together policymakers, academic institutions, innovators, and industry stakeholders.

During the inaugural day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak visited the GIMS startup pavilion and interacted with founders of Matri, Medixa, Medantric, MildCare, and Detrocel. The leadership reviewed the showcased technologies and discussed their clinical applications, scalability, and potential impact on public healthcare delivery.

Apart from individual startup exhibits, the GIMS Medical Innovation Incubator also featured a separate stall, presenting its work as a unique incubator embedded within a government medical college. The incubator focuses on clinician-driven innovation, supporting the development and translation of MedTech solutions from hospital settings to real-world healthcare use.

The incubator has recently achieved another milestone by being recognised as a BIRAC BioNEST, a development that further enhances its national profile and underlines Uttar Pradesh’s growing footprint in biomedical and MedTech innovation.

Earlier in the event, nine startups were shortlisted for the next round of funding, including EASIOFY, Matri, Medixa, and Mobilab. Notably, four of these shortlisted startups are incubated at GIMS, reflecting the strength and maturity of its innovation ecosystem. Additional Chief Secretary Ghose acknowledged GIMS’s contribution in promoting innovation within the public healthcare framework.

The UP MedTech Launch Event has drawn participation from medical colleges across the state and features GIMS alongside institutions such as IIT Kanpur, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), and STPI Lucknow as associated partners. The collaboration underscores a coordinated effort to accelerate MedTech entrepreneurship and healthcare innovation in Uttar Pradesh.
