Greater Noida News (09/01/2026): In a move aimed at strengthening ethical foundations in medical education and research, the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Prof. M.M. Goel Needonomics Foundation. The partnership seeks to promote value-based, need-driven thinking in healthcare education, administration, and institutional development.

The collaboration focuses on advancing the philosophy of Needonomics, conceptualized by Prof. Madan Mohan Goel, as a responsible and ethical alternative to unchecked Greedonomics. The approach emphasizes sustainability, moral responsibility, and conscious decision-making, particularly within the healthcare and education sectors.

The MoU was formally signed by Dr. (Brig.) Rakesh K. Gupta, Director of GIMS, who termed the agreement a strategic academic alliance. He noted that the partnership would significantly contribute to enriching the institute’s academic framework, research initiatives, and organizational culture by embedding ethical perspectives into medical training.

As part of the agreement, Prof. M.M. Goel has been designated as a “Friend of GIMS,” in recognition of his intellectual contributions and long-standing commitment to value-based development. Expressing optimism about the collaboration, Prof. Goel said that the integration of Needonomics could become a distinctive strength of GIMS, helping shape socially conscious and ethically grounded healthcare professionals.

Under the terms of the MoU, the Needonomics framework will be incorporated into research projects, academic programmes, and curriculum development at GIMS. The collaboration also includes the organization of capacity-building initiatives such as workshops, seminars, and webinars, with a focus on ethical decision-making and sustainable practices in healthcare delivery.

The partnership underscores the shared belief that excellence in healthcare goes beyond advanced technology and clinical expertise, and must also be rooted in ethics, empathy, and self-restraint—core principles of Needonomics.

On the occasion, Prof. Goel presented his latest book, “Gita-Inspired Needonomics: A Pragmatic Solution for a Sustainable Future,” to Dr. (Brig.) Rakesh K. Gupta, marking a symbolic beginning to the collaboration centered on ethical and sustainable development in medical education.
