GIMS, NICPR sign MoU to promote research & patient care

A meeting was held between the delegates of GIMS and NICPR, at NICPR, Noida. The agenda of meeting was to sign MOU between two institutions to promote area of research and patient care. The MOU is with the coordination and cooperation between two institutions in the area of research.

GIMS is an apex institute with mission to provide affordable health services to all sections of the society and has been envisioned to be in the forefront of providing excellent professional medical education, multi-disciplinary research and state of the art tertiary care medical facilities.

NICPR is the country’s premier Institute for carrying out research in the field of Cancer Prevention. The Institute has been recognized for the contributions made in developing and validating strategies for cervical cancer screening in the country as well as in training faculty, research scholars, and students for carrying out screening of prevalent cancers namely oral, breast, and uterine cervix.

After MOU, the delegation team from GIMS have a detailed discussion with scientists of NICPR to develop research links especially in the fields of tobacco prevention, different types of cancer, public awareness activities health promotions and to develop patient cancer registry under the principles of  mutual understanding, common interest and mutually following complementary other activities:

  1. To provide opportunities for both faculties, scientists, staff to make optimal use of the expertise and facilities available in both of the organizations through training of faculty/scientists/staff/students and through exchange of thoughts and ideas.
  2. To work jointly for the common research interest at national & international levels. This includes preparation of research proposals and their implementation as per National Health Proprieties.
  3. To support the exchange of academic, research and training material.
  4. To encourage any other activities and both the institutions agreed upon for mutual benefits.
