National News (24 August 2026): Godrej Industries Group has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Haryana, setting the stage for a proposed investment of nearly ₹20,000 crore across the state. The planned expansion is expected to generate approximately 40,000 employment opportunities, strengthening Haryana’s position as a major destination for real estate, commercial infrastructure and industrial investment.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, marking a significant step in the group’s long-term expansion strategy in the state.

Godrej Industries Group has already invested around ₹12,000 crore in Haryana and currently employs nearly 9,000 people through its various businesses operating across the state. The group has indicated that the proposed investment programme will further expand its presence and contribute to Haryana’s economic and employment ecosystem.

Godrej Properties to Lead Major Investment Push

A substantial portion of the planned investment is expected to come through Godrej Properties Ltd (GPL), the group’s real estate arm.

GPL has invested approximately ₹11,000 crore in Haryana so far and is planning an additional investment of around ₹16,000 crore by FY28. With this proposed expansion, the company’s cumulative investment in the state could reach nearly ₹27,000 crore.

The developer currently has 18 projects spread across Gurugram, Sonipat, Faridabad, Panipat and Kurukshetra. Its upcoming developments are expected to create more than 11,000 jobs, adding further momentum to construction, real estate services and allied sectors.

Focus on Premium Office Infrastructure in Gurugram

Godrej Ventures, the group’s real estate private equity platform, is also set to expand its footprint in Haryana. The business has already invested nearly ₹1,000 crore in the state and is planning an additional investment of about ₹3,500 crore towards Grade A+ office infrastructure in Gurugram.

The proposed commercial developments are projected to support more than 30,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, highlighting the potential impact of the investment beyond the real estate sector.

The planned office infrastructure is also expected to contribute to Gurugram’s growing commercial ecosystem and strengthen the city’s position as a key corporate and business hub in the National Capital Region.

CSR and Infrastructure Initiatives to Continue

Alongside its commercial investments, Godrej Industries Group has been involved in community development and infrastructure-related initiatives in Haryana.

The group spends approximately ₹1 crore every year on CSR activities in the state and has invested more than ₹10 crore in infrastructure-focused initiatives. Its interventions have included support mechanisms for construction workers, weather-related insurance assistance and projects aimed at restoring and improving public spaces in Karnal and Kurukshetra.

The group has indicated that it intends to continue collaborating with the Haryana government on development priorities while exploring additional investment opportunities across its businesses.

Diversified Business Portfolio

Godrej Industries Group operates across several sectors, including FMCG, real estate, financial services, agriculture and chemicals. The group reported revenues of approximately $7.2 billion in FY26, while its market capitalisation stood at around $19 billion as of March 31, 2026.

The latest investment roadmap underscores the group’s continued focus on Haryana and reflects the state’s growing importance as a destination for large-scale private investment. With planned spending across residential and commercial real estate, the proposed projects could also generate wider economic activity through construction, professional services, infrastructure development and allied industries.
