New Delhi (India), 14th May 2023: Google’s co-founders are reaping the benefits of the AI (Artificial Intelligence) integration, adding more than $18 billion to their combined wealth as the corporation unveils a redesigned and improved search engine.
Page and Brin, who have been instrumental in the AI drive and are more involved in the firm than they have been in years, are among the year’s top gainers.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Larry Page’s net worth jumped by $9.4 billion this week to $106.9 billion, while Sergey Brin’s increased by $8.9 billion to $102.1 billion. This was their largest weekly increase since February 20, 2021.
Google will begin experimenting with a more conversational search engine and has made its AI-powered chatbot more widely available, the Mountain View, California-based firm announced on Wednesday at its annual developer conference.
This is assisting the company in asserting control in an increasingly competitive field. Alphabet Inc. shares jumped about 1% in New York Friday after jumping 8.6% in the previous two days.
Eric Schmidt, the former CEO of Google, is another winner of the AI boom. He’s invested in a number of firms in the subject and has publicly rejected requests to slow down the pace of research, citing concerns about China’s technological progress.
The vast majority of his $23.6 billion fortune is still linked to Alphabet, where he is the third-largest individual shareholder. This week, his net worth increased by $1.8 billion.
