New Delhi (India), 17th March 2023: The Prime Minster of India on Friday announced the establishment of PM MITRA Mega Textile Parks in 7 states of the country. The move will be a boon and a huge boost for the textile industry.
The PM MITRA mega textile parks would be set up in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Taking to Twitter to announce the launch PM Modi said, “ PM MITRA mega textile parks will boost the textiles sector in line with 5F (Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign) vision. Glad to share that PM MITRA mega textile parks would be set up in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, MP and UP.”
The Twitter thread also read, “The PM MITRA mega textile parks will provide state-of-the-art infrastructure for the textiles sector, attracts investment of crores and create lakhs of jobs. It will be a great example of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Make For the World’.”
According to the Ministry of Textiles, investments totalling approximately Rs 1,536 crore have already been made in the textile sector through the Production-Linked Incentive.
