Govt revenue rises to Rs 7.85 lakh crore in April-July period

New Delhi, Sep 1: According to official figures issued on Thursday, the Government of India earned Rs 7,85,914 crore in income during the April-July period of the current fiscal year, which is 34.4 percent of the budgetary projection for the fiscal.

According to figures given by the Finance Ministry, the overall income in the first four months of the current fiscal year includes Rs 6,66,212 crore in tax revenue (net to the centre), Rs 89,583 crore in non-tax revenue, and Rs 30,119 crore in non-debt capital receipts.

The Government of India’s total spending is Rs 11,26,745 crore (28.6 percent of the equivalent BE 2022-23), of which Rs 9,18,075 crore is on Revenue Account and Rs 2,08,670 crore is on Capital Account.

According to the government, interest payments contribute for Rs 2,83,870 crore of total revenue expenditure, while significant subsidies account for Rs 1,09,707 crore.
