New Delhi, June 30, 2022: On Tuesday, June 28, 2022, the Export Promotion Council of Handicrafts organized its 23rd Handicrafts Export Awards. The awards honor the exporters who have made significant contributions to the country’s development and exports of handicrafts.

Universal Knitwears was one amongst those exporters who were awarded. They specialize in knitwear, handmade toys, and other handicraft products.

“I would dedicate this award to my father who has helped me to learn how to export,” said the senior Universal Knitwears exporter, who has been working in the export line since 1968.

“The exporters are doing a lot for the exports. They are working very hard but our government is unable to match our requirements, that is the only problem that we are facing,” he said regarding the opportunities and challenges in the handicrafts industry. “Suppose if we are in the industrial area, and the roads are broken, then we cannot reach there, we cannot bring buyers over there, that is the main thing,” he said. “Government should talk about the issues faced by workers and buyers because of the broken roads,”

“EPCH is giving all the support,” he said. “Whenever you need them, they are always there,” he said.

“Maintain the quality and the name of India,” he said to all the fellow exporters out there.
