Gr. Noida Celebrates 5th International Yoga Day at Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex

Greater Noida (21/06/2019) : Today a Large number of Greater Noida residents performed Yoga at Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex, Greater Noida on the occasion of International Yoga Day 2019. For making the event successful eminent personalities like Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh, Chief Development officer A K Singh, ACEO Greater Noida Authority K K Gupta also remained present and performed yoga.

The program began at 7: 30 am in the multipurpose indoor stadium where Greater Noida Authority made a sitting arrangement for 1000 people by putting yoga mats. A shirt having the logo of world yoga day were distributed to all the yoga practitioners. Instructors instructed various assans which is perfectly performed by the practitioners while many seemed struggling with it.

Interacting with Media Dhirendra Singh thanked PM Modi for gifting India this wonderful gift of World Yoga Day. He said “Once again India is on the path of development and once again we will become a world leader. I urge all the people to inherit yoga in their lifestyle and lead a healthy life.”

While the ACEO GNIDA K K Gupta describes the Vedic essence of Yoga and explained it with the sloks of Gita, he said: “It’s a very proud moment for us as “yoga” is one of the oldest practices which Indians practice to keep themselves healthy and now Yoga is getting alive by the efforts of the government. In Gita also Lord Krishna explained Arjun about the essence of yoga and how can we live a profound life by inheriting this practice in our lives.”

The idea of International Day of Yoga was first proposed by PM Modi during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on September 27, 2014. After which it is accepted by the whole world and June 21 is declared as World Yoga Day.

The World Yoga Day Logo reflects harmony and peace for humanity which is the essence of Yoga. Several programs associated with the International Day of Yoga are being organized with great enthusiasm in various countries.
