Greater Noida Authority vs Media Cricket Match : Words steal the show in the game of ball and bat!

On the sunny afternoon of republic day, a cricket match between Greater Noida authority and Greater Noida press was organized at the Vijay Singh Pathik Stadium grounds. The friendly cricket match was organized on the occasion of Greater Noida Authority’s 27th foundation day.

ACEO K K Gupta was the captain of the Greater Noida Authority Team whereas Senior Journalist Aadesh Bhati captioned the press team.

Authority won the toss and decided to bat first. The team which had many first time debutantes playing from Greater Noida Authority team for the first time, showed great skill set and ensured repeated boundaries at regular intervals.

The team managed to give a target of 131 runs at the loss of five wickets in 15 overs match. In return the press team got all out at the score of 82, thus giving an easy victory to Greater Noida Authority team.

Both the sides made it a point to remain energetic and maintain the jovial spirit of sports throughout the game.

The game on the pitch remained interesting throughout the 30 overs however what added more fun and vigor to it was the out of box commentary style of Senior Journalist Dharmendra Chandel. He ensured to keep audience at wits with his interesting and funny narration of the match.

During the prize distribution ceremony ACEO KK Gupta delivered a thumping speech and made sure the sportsman spirit remains the sole winner of the evening. He said, “It is a great privilege to witness this interesting match. This friendly match taught us how playing is much more important than winning”.

He also narrated the famous poetry of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee “हार नहीं मानूँगा . रार नहीं ठानूँगा .. गीत नया गाता हूँ” and talked of his journey from a journalist to a bureaucrat.
