Greater Noida building collapse: Meerut Commissioner to inspect Shahberi incident under the eye of UP CM

The enquiry being conducted under the lens of UP CM and report will directly submit to him

Greater Noida: To probe into the Shahberi village building collapse incident where 9 people died and likely 10 people are trapped, the state government has appointed IAS, Meerut Divisional Commissioner, Amita C Meshram on Thursday.

Visiting Shahberi village after 40 hours of incident, the divisional commissioner mustered the site on Thursday afternoon and reviewed the ongoing rescue operation and ordered to fasten it.

“The rescue operation likely to end by tomorrow, around 100 National Disaster Rescue Force (NDRF) personnel working on various shifts through scientific ways,” said Amita C Meshram after inspecting the area to the media.

Speaking on the investigation, she said, that till then four people arrested, two officials have been suspended and three enquiries are going on followed by FIR registered by Greater Noida police. Moreover, cases against 21 people including contractor, sub-contractor, builder, property dealer and architect have been registered under relevant sections of IPC.

“I assure, no offenders, directly or indirectly connected to the case, will go unpunished,” said Mehsram.

She further said, “Not only building collapse incident, the CM also asked to enquire the rampant illegal construction in the Shahberi village and submit the entire report directly to the CM. The enquiry will be done under the eye of Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath.
