Noida, 19th August, 2022: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has handed the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Noida Metro-Noida International Airport in Jewar to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA).
DMRC has proposed a Rs 5,329 crore connecting metro project from Knowledge Park-2 to Jewar Airport.
The envisioned metro rail route will run parallel to the Yamuna Expressway for 35 kilometres and will include six stops. This will help residents of Yamuna City, as well as Noida, Greater Noida, and Delhi.
The project will include 4.18 km of underground line and 31.26 km of elevated rail. The project will cost approximately Rs 5329 crore.
According to sources, DMRC predicts that this connecting metro rail line will take 1.5 years to complete.
YEIDA also intends to construct a new connection metro train route between the planned Noida airport and the existing IGI airport in Delhi.
YEIDA signed an agreement with DMRC in September 2021 to prepare a feasibility report for a metro line connecting Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport to the future Noida International Airport at Jewar.
Noida International Airport at Jewar would feature a spur road to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in addition to metro access to IGI Airport.
