New York(USA), 10/08/23: Grimes has called her relationship with Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk “the best internship ever.”
In an interview with Wired, the 35-year-old artist spoke openly about her work, children, and former relationship with the South African-born billionaire.
She credits Musk not only for her son, X A-Xii (nicknamed “X”), and daughter, Exa Dark Siderael (nicknamed “Y”), but also for her significant technological knowledge.
She said, “I learned from him, like, the best internship ever. People don’t like talking about Elon, but it was incredible to be right there watching all that SpaceX stuff happen…That’s a master class in leadership and engineering and makes you understand how rare it is to have a leader of that quality.”
Grimes also discussed Musk’s leadership and his 2022 acquisition of X, formerly known as Twitter. She praised him for his commitment to the undertaking of “something of that magnitude.” She also commended his “old world discipline,” noting how quickly people criticise it when it is helpful.
She also stated, “He’s challenged me a lot…I learned a lot about running my own team and my own life. I’m now way tougher and smarter than I used to be.”
The Canadian musician isn’t the only one who benefited from the friendship. Since the claims surfaced in 2018, Grimes believed Musk had learnt how to have more fun by being with her.
