Hackers claim access to HDFC data, bank denies breach

New Delhi (India), 7th March 2023: HDFC bank is one of the largest private banks of the country, and it seems to have fallen prey to hackers. However when approached the bank denies any breach.

It was recently discovered that a hacker has posted 7.5 GB data of the HDFC bank on the internet. Surprisingly the data is free to download which indicates that there wasn’t any monetary stimulus behind the move.

However in a statement HDFC said to TimesNow they said, “We wish to state that there is no data leak at HDFC Bank and our systems have not been breached or accessed in any unauthorised manner. We remain confident of our systems. However we treat the matter of our customers data security with utmost seriousness and we continue to monitor bank systems and the ecosystem to ensure the highest standards of data security and safety.”

HDFC bank is a reputed and a very old bank of the country. Now the hacker has customer information such as Full names (with middle name included), Date of birth, Age, Phone Numbers, Personal Email among others.
