Hamid Ansari reveals why he doesn’t go to convocations anymore, answers student queries.

Greater Noida : VP Hamid Ansari Interacts With Students At Sharda University And Speaks of Educational Reforms

Honorable Vice President of India Hamid Ansari today visited Sharda University to interact with students and answer their queries.

Welcoming VP at the university Vice-Chancellor of Sharda University P K Gupta said,”I have been fan of Vice-Presidents humbleness ever since I visited his house 4-5years back. A man of simple living and high thinking, his days as VC of AMU is an inspiration to us all”.

VC of Sharda University also informed that he was part of Hamid Ansari’s delegation when the VP visited Nigeria.

Thereafter Vice President Hamid Ansari too the stage and said,”I now want to know and understand what present generation is thinking. I want to hear from students about what they think about today’s world and what as a student concerns them the most because they are the one who are going to step into the world”.

Answering to a question regarding why there was 4.9% hike in education sector but 6% hike in defence sector, the Vice President of India said, “Our allocation at education sector is very low and is not targeted towards quantitive and quality education. Our problem is less with higher education then with primary education. In earlier generation we produced many more eminent scholar, scientists but that era has passed. We need to understand the issues of current times and should do our best to resolve them.

Hamid Anasari also revealed that he has attended more then enough convocations in past ten years and is no more interested in having such monotonous interactions at College gatherings.

“I believe that speeches and addresses at all convocation ceremonies remain more or less the same and it was because of this reason that I have now started saying no to such one-sided conversation opportunities. Today that’s why I have accepted to be a part of this question-answer format interaction and I am glad of being in between such curious students” said the Vice-President.

The event lasted for about half an hour and started as well as ended with National Anthem.
