Greater Noida (17 April 2025): The 59th edition of the IHGF Delhi Fair, one of the world’s largest fairs for home, lifestyle, fashion, furniture, and textiles, organized by the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), commenced at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida. The fair was officially inaugurated by Giriraj Singh, Union Minister of Textiles, Government of India, who also toured the exhibition halls and interacted with various participants, showcasing India’s rich handicraft heritage.

In an exclusive conversation with Ten News Network, Sonia Gupta, an exhibitor representing Chandra Glass House, shared her enriching experience of participating in the IHGF 59th edition fair. Speaking passionately about her brand and the products showcased, she highlighted the uniqueness and cultural heritage behind each creation.

We are showcasing today the products and the products from Firozabad, she said, elaborating on the display of exquisite glass items that were mouth-blown and hand-carved. According to her, the beauty of these pieces lies in their intricate craftsmanship. These products were unique because they were handmade, she emphasized. Made by around 100 people for one product, she added, underlining the tremendous effort and skill involved in the creation of each piece.

When asked about the international response to their exhibits, Sonia noted that several countries had shown keen interest in their work. The countries which have shown most interest in our products, she shared, are the USA, Europe, and several other countries. They are showing their interest in our products. This clearly reflects the global appeal and demand for Indian handicrafts and artisanal goods.

Discussing the role of the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), Sonia credited the organization for its continuous support and dedication to promoting Indian artisans. We are one of the oldest exporters, she said, EPCH connects and collaborates with exporters from other cities and gives one platform. She explained how this collaboration has been instrumental in helping exhibitors like her reach both national and international buyers.

The fair, named IHGF 59th edition, gives a platform to buyers and exhibitors. We just meet here, communicate, and get orders — in future also, she explained, pointing to the long-term value and business relationships forged at such events.

She also acknowledged Mr. Rakesh Kumar, the founder of this grand exhibition, for his visionary contribution to the handicrafts sector. Mr. Rakesh Kumar, the founder of this exhibition… we can say he started this and collected all the exhibitors from different cities, she said. Here you will see metal from Moradabad, wood from Saharanpur, she added, painting a vivid picture of the diverse handicraft traditions represented at the event.

The IHGF 59th edition has brought together artisans and exporters from across the country under one roof, showcasing the best of Indian craftsmanship — from delicate glasswork of Firozabad to intricate metal art of Moradabad and finely carved wood from Saharanpur. As Sonia concluded, Very unique handicrafts products you will have and see here, and all are getting exported right now, emphasizing India’s strong presence in the global handicrafts market.

IHGF Delhi Fair, running from April 16 to 19, 2025, continues to be a vibrant showcase of Indian craftsmanship and a vital networking hub for exporters and international buyers. With participation from thousands of artisans and over 3,000 exhibitors, the fair covers a wide range of product categories including home décor, textiles, furniture, fashion jewelry, and accessories.
