TN: Being one of the most recognized Cardiologist in India what are your tips for a healthy heart and healthy living.

Dr. PL: Well there are many risk factors. High BP, hypertension, smoking, pollution, high cholesterol, overweight etc. contribute very adversely for human health. But one must maintain weight, should diet and exercise for a healthy living. If these can be followed 50% of problems can be rectified. Of course we have other risk factors; they should also be dealt in best way. Family history, blood pressure etc. need doctor’s intervention and should be diagnosed. And general check-up are also very important.



Even children’s must be brought for regular check-up. Today young people are also suffering from cardiac problems. Even village people who work very hard also get massive heart-attack. It is because tobacco products they consumed at high rate. Bad habits must be avoided. Yoga and meditation must be practiced. Basic thing- Diet and Exercise!
