Heavy rains in Delhi, Police issues traffic advisory against using Minto road

New Delhi [India], July 21, 2020: With the arrival of monsoon, national capital Delhi on Tuesday once again witnessed heavy rain.

From Mayur Vihar in East Delhi to Connaught Place in Central and RK Puram in South, heavy downpour was witnessed in almost all parts of the metropolitan.

Indeed, soon after the spell of rain, Delhi traffic police took to twitter to advise motorist to avoid Minto road and use alternative route.

“Due to water clogging avoid Minto road. For accessing Central Delhi, kindly use Ranjeet Singh Flyover”, DTP said in its tweet.

Earlier on Sunday, one man had died after getting stuck in clogged water near Minto road area. A DTC bus was also stuck and fire fighting personnel were pressed into action to rescue the travelers.

As per weather forecast, the spell of rain may continue in the region for most days of the week.
