New Delhi, 14 September 2022: Hindu Sena has written to the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) to demand that the national capital’s Babar Road be renamed to Bhagwan Valmiki Marg.

They have stated that the current name reminds people of atrocities done by Mughal ruler Babar on Hindus and hence, should be changed.

In the letter, Vishnu Gupta, Hindu Sena president emphasised, “Babar Road is located in Bengali Market in New Delhi, everyone knows that Babar was an invader, an infiltrator, a jihadi terrorist who persecuted the people of India, forcibly converted their religion, forcibly demolished our monasteries, temples and erected mosques on it. When people pass through Babar Road, it reminds them of the atrocities committed by Babur on Hindus.”

“With the Supreme Court’s ruling about the Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya, it is now clear that Babar was the invading force; he had destroyed the Shri Ram temple in order to build the Babri Masjid; the temple is currently being erected in Ayodhya. Babar Road, however, continues to serve as a reminder of Babar’s violence. Bhagwan Valmiki Marg should take the place of Babar Road. Because the Valmiki Ramayana, which was created by Lord Valmiki ji, is how Shri Ram ji was first introduced to the world, ” he said.

However, it should also be noted that the request to rename the “Babar Road” has already been made by a number of Hindu organizations, thus this is not the first time. They had also previously vandalized the Babar Road signs at Bengali Market, demanding that it be changed in honor of a “great Indian personality.”
