Greater Noida News (02/05/2026): The Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony of Fr. Agnel School, Greater Noida (Classes I–XII) was held with great enthusiasm and cultural vibrancy, marking a memorable celebration of academic excellence, talent, and holistic development. The event coincided with Buddha Purnima and featured a special light and sound presentation titled “Karuna Samrat,” based on the life of Emperor Ashoka, highlighting the values of compassion and transformation.

The ceremony was graced by Justice M. L. Mehta as the Chief Guest. Father Rodrigues Bento, Director of the institution, Gajanan Mali, Founder of Ten News Network along with school management, faculty, parents and students were present in large numbers.

The event commenced with an introduction and prayer song, followed by Father Bento’s address. Students were felicitated across multiple categories including Academic Excellence, Full Attendance, Good Samaritan, Emerging Innovator, Best Sportsperson, Best Orator, Best Singer, Best Dancer, Best Actor, Best Artist, and Emerging Star.

Chief Guest’s Address: A Powerful Message on Education and Society

In a deeply inspiring and thought-provoking address, Justice M. L. Mehta expressed his admiration for the students’ performances and the school’s vision. By saying that, I am really moved and touched by the performances. The objective depicted through the life of Great Ashoka is truly the need of the hour. I sincerely thank the management, the Principal, and Father Bento for giving me this opportunity to interact with students, parents, and be part of this celebration.

Highlighting the joy of engaging with young minds, he added, It always delights me to meet young children. While we often interact with different sections of society, including professionals, interacting with young minds brings a unique happiness. The performances presented by these children are truly mind-blowing.

Celebrating Achievements and Recognizing Efforts

Justice Mehta congratulated the students and their families for their accomplishments: All the achievements and awards given to students from Class I to XI are remarkable. I congratulate every child who has been recognized, as well as their proud parents. I also extend my best wishes to those who are preparing to achieve such milestones in the coming years.

Vision, Commitment, and Role of Stakeholders

Emphasizing the importance of collective effort, he underlined the role of various stakeholders: These accomplishments are the result of vibrant participation by students. However, success is never achieved by students alone. The child is the most important stakeholder, as schools exist for children. But the vision and commitment of the institution are equally crucial.

Praising the leadership he said, What I have observed over the years is the strong vision and commitment demonstrated by the institution. Father Bento’s leadership and the contributions of other stalwarts like Father Carvalho have played a significant role. Equally important are the teachers, who are the backbone of any educational institution. They are instrumental in shaping young minds.

Parents as Equal Partners in Education

Justice Mehta strongly emphasized the role of parents in a child’s development: The next important stakeholder is the parent. The combination of vibrant student participation, committed schools, and supportive parents shapes responsible citizens who are prepared to face societal challenges.

He further added that, It is a blessing that this institution maintains transparency, strong values, and commitment. Parents should feel proud and blessed that their children are studying in such an institution.

Holistic Learning vs. Academic Learning

Delivering a powerful message on education, Justice Mehta stated: Academic learning alone, in my view, is not real learning. It often becomes memorization. True education is holistic. It prepares children to face society, interact with people, and live responsibly.

He highlighted experiential learning as a key strength of the school by saying that, The events, celebrations, and activities you witness here are not just academic exercises. They are experiential learning opportunities that expose children to real-life situations and help them grow.

An Inspiring Story of Determination

Sharing a remarkable example, Justice Mehta narrated the story of a differently-abled student: There is a child who could neither see nor hear, yet she scored 98.7% and became a topper. Hats off to the mother who recognized her child’s potential and worked tirelessly, teaching her through touch and innovative methods. This is the level of dedication and commitment parents can bring.

Responsibility Towards Institutions

He also stressed the importance of respect and responsibility towards educational institutions. Parents and children both have responsibilities—not only towards each other but also towards the school. Institutions shape lives, and we must respect them. Children should feel that ‘this is my school.’ Such a sense of belonging builds respect and enhances learning.

Parents must always encourage their children to respect their institution. Without this culture, the value of education diminishes. Respect for teachers, staff, and peers is essential.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks and the school anthem, leaving the audience inspired and motivated. The celebration not only recognized achievements but also reinforced the importance of holistic education, strong values, and collaborative efforts between schools and parents.

Fr. Agnel School once again showcased its commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals prepared to contribute meaningfully to society.
