I.T.S Dental College celebrates World Oral Health Week, screens over 500+ people for Oral Health issues
Greater Noida, 28th March: I.T.S Dental College, Hospital & Research Centre, Greater Noida celebrated “World Oral Health Week” from 20th to 26th March 2022 with the theme “Be Proud of your Mouth” to create awareness and to educate people about the importance of Oral Health.
On the occasion of World Oral health Week, Chairman of I.T.S -The Education Group, Dr. R.P. Chadha and Vice Chairman Mr. Sohil Chadha expressed their views on the importance of Oral Health and stated how I.T.S., The Educational group, has always working for the benefit of the patients with high quality treatment at affordable cost. The institute also keep oral health need records of the community, develops and plans strategies to meet those in needs, deliver oral health services to the needy and the deprived segment of the community through outreach programs.
In this context, series of events were organized at I.T.S Dental College, Greater Noida & at the camp venue. The Department of Periodontics organized a two days plaque screening camp using a special dental plaque screening device for patient education and motivation. A total of approx 500 patients were screened & free tooth paste samples were distributed to every patient. The department of public health dentistry organized a one week long dental camps at different locations i.e. Dankaur Old Age Home, Bulandshahr District Jail, Dadri, Sikandrabad from 21st to 26th March 2022.
Overall 482 Oral Health Screening were done at the camp venue along with the basic treatments like scaling, Fillings and Extractions. Free Medications like analgesics & antibiotics were distributed to those patients who were in need. The department of pedodontics organized a school dental camp at Uday Public School, Dadupur. 148 students were screened and basic treatment were provided at the camp venue. The patients visiting the OPD of I.T.S Dental College, Hospital & Research Centre, Greater Noida were sensitized regarding the importance of Oral Health. Pamphlets depicting the importance of Oral Health, proper technique of tooth brushing & Dental Myths were distributed. Awareness Desk was made at the reception area of the Institute. The patients were made aware about the Dental myth & misconception. Social media campaign was also initiated in order to spread the awareness regarding the importance of Oral Health. Tobacco cessation counseling were done for the patients visiting the OPD of ITS Dental college, Hospital & Research Centre who were in the habit of smoking or chewing tobacco. Free Nicotex Chewing gums were distributed for the needy.
