IESA to host ‘India Expo Shop Summit 2016’, focus to translate aspiration of the country into the vivid reality

New Delhi: With Prime Minister Narendra Modi focusing on Digital India, Make in India, Smart Cities programme to transform the country into a  empowered society and knowledge economy, the exhibit design sector in the country is also gearing up to translate this aspiration into the reality. Today, the relevance and contribution of the exhibit design segment in the success and proper showcasing of these ambitious initiatives has evolved. It has now become a prime investor into the exhibition segment than mere a supplier as they work seamlessly at all points of engagement. And, the recent Digital India, Star-up India and Make in India week long celebrations have been testimony to this emerging reality.

Taking this work to the next level and following the record-breaking success of its major activities in the area of promoting exhibitions, conferences & events services sector in the country, Indian Exhibitions, Conferences & Events Services Association (IESA), an apex organisation working towards the development of the exhibitions, conferences & events services sector is organising the India Expo Shop Summit 2016 (IES 2016) at India Expo Centre and Mart, in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh between 21-23 April 2016.

With the theme of “Effective strategies for creating experiential spaces in Exhibitions, Events and Sports,” the India Expo Shop Summit 2016 will explore different potentialities and opportunities offered by exhibit design space and how same could be utilised for fulfilling the broader vision of Hon’nble Prime Minister’s of ‘Empowered India.’

The India Expo Shop Summit 2016 is a 3-day event comprising conference and expo. It will bring different stakeholders – service providers, design organisations, event managers, MARCOM segment of large corporates, senior representatives of government departments, experts, students and academicians – on a single platform to discusses and disseminate the best practices in exhibit design sector.

The conference will be inaugurated on 22 April at 9.30 am by senior government official in the presence of eminent dignitaries including Nanu Binu, President, IESA; Mr Pradyumna Vyas, Director, National Institute of Design (NID); Sabbas Joseph, President, Event & Entertainment Management Association (EEMA) and many others.

The inauguration will be followed by a powerful keynote address and presentation on the topic of “Effective Strategies for Creating Experiential Spaces in Exhibitions, Events and Sports.”

The large list of esteemed speakers at the summit includes senior government officials, exhibit design experts and academicians from across the country and abroad.  Mr Amardeep Behl, Director, Design Habit; Mr. George Blake, Events & Strategy at CSM Sport & Entertainment; Mr. Jignesh Khakhar, Head New Media Design, National Institute of Design; Mr. Dilipkumar Mattappilly, Director-Project, Acoustic Logistic; Mr. Sunil More, Partner, Fair Act will speak on the various topics ranging from ‘Story telling as an effective medium of communication in space’ to ‘Planning and delivery overview in the sports world’ to ‘Relevance of new media in exhibition and events’ and ‘Ensuring safety & security in organising events.’

In addition to above focus, a powerful panel discussion on the topic of “Future Trends in Design, Communication and Technology” is also planned which will be moderated by Mr. P R Mehta, Former President, Council of Architecture (COA India), Former Member, Expert Group of Ministry of commerce on Services and Director, Cityneon DAG India Pvt Ltd. The panelist – Mr. Sanjay Soni, Founder Member, IESA, and Chief Knowledge Director, Incredible Design; Mr. Shibu Chellapan, Pavilions And Interiors (I) Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Virendra Gupta, Deputy Director General CII – will focus on the future trends in design, communication and how technology – not only the internet but new materials, software and production techniques, can bring innovation and change the way world perceive exhibitions and events.

Commenting on the goal and reason for organising India Expo Shop Summit 2016 (IES 2016), Binu Nanu, President, Indian Exhibitions, Conferences & Events Services Association (IESA) said, “Today the exhibit design sector in India has evolved. From translating the aspiration of organisation into the vivid reality, the relevance and contribution of the exhibit design supplier in the success of the trade show has gradually matured. Now it has become a prime investor into the sector.  In light of these, The India Expo Shop Summit 2016 (IES 2016) will explore the different dynamics and opportunities for stakeholders and will provide a learning space for all the participants.”

The India Expo Shop Summit 2016 is supported by key industry bodies, government organisations including Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC), which have been working towards trade promotion and overall growth of the industry in India.

The summit will gather over 500 key practitioners which include service providers, design organisations, event managers, MARCOM segment of large corporate, senior representatives of government departments and experts.
