Greater Noida News (06 August 2026): The Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) is showcasing the rich heritage of Indian craftsmanship blended with contemporary design at its dedicated pavilion during the 9th edition of the India International Hospitality Expo (IHE) 2026. The four-day exhibition, being held from August 5 to 8 at the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida, features an extensive range of handcrafted, eco-friendly, and design-led products tailored to meet the evolving needs of the hospitality and HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants and Catering) industry.

The EPCH Pavilion was inaugurated by Dr. Neeraj Khanna, Chairman, EPCH; Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chief Patron in the capacity of Director General, EPCH, and Chairman, India Exposition Mart Limited (IEML); and Mr. Rajesh Rawat, Executive Director, EPCH. The inauguration was attended by leading member exporters, master artisans, and representatives from the hospitality industry.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Neeraj Khanna said that India’s rapidly expanding hospitality sector is creating significant demand for handcrafted, sustainable, and uniquely designed products. He noted that Indian handicrafts, known for their diversity, traditional craftsmanship, and regional artistry, are well-positioned to meet the design and functional requirements of modern hotels, resorts, and restaurants.

He added that through its pavilion at IHE 2026, EPCH is presenting customized handcrafted solutions for guest rooms, hotel lobbies, banquet halls, wellness spaces, restaurants, and outdoor hospitality environments. The initiative provides exporters and artisans with an opportunity to establish direct business relationships with institutional buyers and leading hospitality brands, paving the way for long-term sourcing partnerships.

Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, IEML and Chief Patron in the capacity of Director General, EPCH, said that IHE has emerged as one of India’s most influential business platforms for the hospitality industry, bringing together hotel owners, procurement professionals, architects, interior designers, project consultants, and sourcing experts under one roof. Such platforms, he said, help handicraft manufacturers understand institutional procurement requirements and develop innovative, customized products for large-scale hospitality projects.

He further highlighted that India’s hospitality sector is increasingly embracing local identity, cultural heritage, and sustainable materials in hotel and restaurant design. This evolving trend offers immense opportunities for Indian artisans and exporters to collaborate with hospitality brands in product development, interior styling, and bespoke collections. Integrating handcrafted products into the hospitality value chain, he said, will generate new demand, strengthen artisan livelihoods, and enhance the global recognition of Indian craftsmanship.

Mr. Rajesh Rawat, Executive Director, EPCH, described the council’s participation at IHE 2026 as an important step toward strengthening business linkages between the handicrafts and hospitality sectors. He stated that exhibitors are presenting products that can be customized in terms of size, finish, material, colour, branding, and production volume to meet the specific requirements of hotels, restaurants, resorts, and catering establishments. Such collaborations, he said, are expected to open new domestic and international market opportunities for Indian handicrafts.

Mr. Rawat informed that seven EPCH member exporters are participating in this year’s exhibition, displaying a diverse range of products including home décor, furniture, glassware, carpets, kitchenware, jute products, houseware, and lifestyle collections.

One of the major attractions at the EPCH Pavilion is the Live Craft Demonstration Zone, where master artisans from across India are showcasing traditional crafts in real time. Supported by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, the demonstrations feature crafts such as Zari-Zardozi from Agra, Folk Painting from Almora, Candle Craft from Dehradun, Papier-Mâché and Fusion Craft from Delhi, Dry Flower Craft from Gurugram, Home Décor Craft from Hoshiarpur, Grass Fibre Craft from Kolkata, Chikankari from Lucknow, and Doll & Toy Craft from Prayagraj.

EPCH is the country’s apex organization dedicated to promoting the export of Indian handicrafts and strengthening the global identity of millions of artisans engaged in the production of home décor, lifestyle, furniture, fashion jewellery, and accessories across India’s craft clusters. According to EPCH, India’s total handicrafts exports during the financial year 2025–26 stood at ₹33,168 crore (approximately USD 3.754 billion), reflecting the growing international demand and global recognition for Indian handcrafted products.
