IHGF Delhi Fair 2022 offering wholesome experience to buyers: EPCH

Greater Noida – 17th October 2022: “IHGF Delhi Fair is serving its purpose of being the world’s largest congregation of handicraft exporters and one of the largest of its kind, befittingly. The venue, India Expo Centre & Mart is witnessing trade visitors from across the globe gather inspiration, renew old contacts, add new suppliers to their sourcing chain, broaden product base with addition of new categories and get enthralled at the live display of artisanal apparel, fashion jewellery & accessories at the Ramp Shows,” informed Raj K Malhotra, Chairman, EPCH. Avdesh Agarwal, President, IHGF Delhi Fair Reception Committee added, “Facilities at the fair venue and transport arrangements by the organisers are being appreciated by many overseas visitors. Many are soaking up some ‘Indian Autumn’ breeze as they take breaks from business negotiations.”

Furniture importer, Jason Mulvene from USA is happy with the variety he gets from his regular exhibitors at IHGF and usually has a lot to choose from. “Indian products make up about 30% of our total trade and I’ve been getting good response for them in my market,” he shared. Arnfinn Engeset, a buyer from Norway says, he has attended every single edition of this fair and is happy with the progression in exhibition numbers and product choices. He is here to source interior décor products. Louis Morris Reid from Germany is another such regular buyer for home décor. Indian products attract with superior craftsmanship, he said.

Rakesh Kumar, Director General, EPCH & Chairman, IEML shared, “While exhibitors in the halls are getting their due, there are many regional artisans and upcoming enterprises that are getting their share of attention. Among such craft representations, there are artisans and upcoming entrepreneurs who are part of India Expo Centre & Mart (IEML)’s e-Nurture programme, housed in a Theme Area at the IHGF Delhi Fair. With collections ranging from metal crafts to hand woven shawls, handlooms, ceramics, paper crafts, needle crafts, etc. they are attracting many trade visitors for orders and enquiries. Some of them have successfully networked with established exporters in their quest to reach big overseas markets. Handheld through a skill development and confidence building process, these new entrants to the handicrafts export segment are marketing their products on e-commerce platforms like ExpoBazaar.”

IEML’s e-Nurture programme is its CSR initiative and an endeavor to provide and sharpen business skills such as product development, merchandising concepts, consumer trends, e-commerce photography, quality assurance, inventory, packaging, logistics and finance for small businesses and help them market their products on e-commerce platforms to ultimately result in income generation and sustained livelihood.

IHGF Delhi Fair was visited today by Dr. Raghuraj Singh, Chairman/Minister of Labour and Employment, Government of Uttar Pradesh; Vijoy Kumar Singh IAS, Secretary, Ex-Servicemen Welfare department and Mayur Maheshwari, CEO of Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) & in-charge of NRI Cell informed R K Verma, Executive Director, EPCH.

He further added, Seminars on Managing Organizational Productivity and Boosting Organizational Citizenship, Forex Solution and Rupee acceptability in World Markets and SIDBIs’s Promotional Schemes for MSMEs, were well attended. Ramp Presentations, with all their energy, vibrancy and product variety, continue to draw crowds.
