In a bid to bring down road accidents, YEIDA CEO inspects safety related works at Yamuna Eway

Yamuna Expressway, 27th May: On Friday, Dr Arun Vir Singh CEO (YEIDA) along with other officials viz. ACEO Monika Rani, ACEO Ravinder Singh and other officials visited Yamuna Expressway along with officials of Jaypee Infratech Ltd. CEO inspected the works recommended by IIT Delhi safety audit. In his inspection, all the work done carried out by Jaypee were shown. It was observed that that safety related works are complete except work of installation of guardrail on both sides of the medium of Yamuna Expressway. This work is in full swing and out of 330 km Jaypee has completed 290 km and balance will be completed by June 2022. The guard rail in central median has resulted into decrease in no of accidents.

To bring down the road accidents in the state, Hon’ble Chief Minister had issued gave some instructions. The status of these works are as follows:

1. The Pamphlet (“Instructions for safe journey”) should be distributed to the road users. Pamphlet’s should be more attractive and be briefly informative (Font size should be bigger)

2. The number of 10 speed cameras should be increased, so that more speeded vehicles can be caught.

3. Number of 3 laser speed guns to be increased. With the police, over speeding vehicles can be caught by using these speed gun.

4. In Average Speed between plaza report, vehicle image should be attach. Average speed data should also be sent to NIC for challan, there should be an acknowledgement from traffic police with detail of vehicles which have been challaned.

5. Share the Over weight vehicle data with Police/RTO for challan.
