New Delhi (India),19th Jan 2023: Education experts in India are calling for increased investment in education in the upcoming Union Budget 2023-24, which is set to be presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1.

The Annual Status of Education Report 2022 has highlighted widening gaps in learning, and the experts believe that investing in education will help address these gaps and transform India into a global education hub.

The key areas of focus include the EdTech space, increasing budget allocation for education, revising learning methods, forging stronger connections between economic opportunity and the education system, collaborations with foreign universities, and focusing on girl child education.

They also recommend allocating funds for mental well-being schemes and programs by qualified professionals to provide students with guidance and support and to help students learn coping strategies and build resilience.
