March 14, New Delhi: Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology on Sunday while addressing TDSAT seminar on ’25 years of the TRAI Act, 1997′, said that India has already started work on 6G, adding that our country should take lead in the 6G technology otherwise what’s the point of being called a nation of talents.

“We have already initiated work on 6G also, as we have made very good progress on 4G, 5G. We should take lead in the 6G technology otherwise what’s the point of being called a nation of talents,” the telecom minister said Ashwini Vaishnaw.

He said that we are trying to catch up with 4G. We should at least run together in 5G but in 6G we should take the lead.

“We were lagging when it was 2G and 3G. We are trying to catch up with 4G. We should at least run together in 5G but in 6G we should take the lead. Otherwise, what’s the point of being a nation which is today called a talent nation,” Said the communication minister.

Vaishnaw also said the Centre is looking to overhaul the regulatory structure to facilitate development of technology and interaction with industry as a partner and not as adversaries.
