India International Hospitality Expo (IHE) 2024 Opens with Grand Inauguration in Greater Noida

Greater Noida (3 August 2024): India International Hospitality Expo (IHE) 2024 has officially opened its doors today, kicking off a highly anticipated four-day event at the India Expo Centre & Mart. This seventh edition of the prestigious expo is set to be a landmark event in the hospitality sector, attracting key industry leaders, innovators, and professionals.

The inauguration ceremony began at 11 a.m., featuring a keynote address by Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister of Culture and Tourism. Shekhawat praised the progress made in the hospitality industry, reflecting on the challenges of the past and how events like IHE have simplified the process for hotel operations. He emphasized that the expo represents a significant step forward, as India’s tourism sector continues to grow and gain global recognition.

As a representative of Rajasthan, Shekhawat highlighted the vast potential in the hospitality sector and India’s emerging global stature. He noted the success of the G-20 summit as a testament to India’s growing influence and the country’s evolving image on the world stage. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Shekhawat said, India’s economic progress is visible, particularly in the tourism sector, which is poised for significant growth.

Shekhawat also acknowledged the contributions of individuals like Rakesh Kumar in advancing the handicraft industry and stressed the importance of developing new tourism destinations to meet evolving demands. He underscored the significance of the IHE 2024 event in shaping the future of India’s tourism sector and in addressing gaps to drive further development.

The expo, running for four days, is expected to offer valuable insights and opportunities for all participants, contributing to the ongoing evolution and expansion of India’s hospitality industry.

During the inauguration, Chairman of India Expo Centre and Mart Dr. Rakesh Kumar lauded the event’s significance, stating, “I welcome Gajendra Singh Shekhawat,” he said, adding that the Jodhpur-based student union leader has become a prominent parliamentarian and then his journey to becoming a minister has been remarkable. His dedication makes him an extraordinary leader committed to serving the people.”

Dr. Kumar emphasized the importance of the India Expo Centre & Mart as the venue for this groundbreaking event, highlighting, “This expo will set new milestones in India’s economic landscape. As we starting our seventh edition, we recall the spirit of G-20 and our commitment to ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.’ Embracing this philosophy, we extend a warm welcome to all attendees. Unlike in the past, where sourcing hospitality products meant looking abroad, now everything is under our roof.”

Vietnam has been announced as the partner country for IHE 2024, showcasing a range of its products. Attendees will also have the opportunity to experience the culture and environment of Himachal Pradesh. Dr. Kumar extended his gratitude to the event team and warmly welcomed all participants, setting the stage for a memorable and impactful expo.
