India Lights Lamps To Showcase Solidarity In Fight Against Coronavirus
Following PM Modi’s appeal to turn off the lights and blow candles, diyas etc for 9 minutes at 9pm, people from across the country came out at the balconies, terrace in a collective effort to show solidarity in a fight against the deadly Coronavirus.

Many countries like Germany, Australia, Israel and Japan too joined in the 9 pm 9 minute campaign.
PM Modi, leading the campaign from front, himself lit a lamp at 9pm. President Ram Nath Kovind, Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh were amongst other statesman joining the show.

Emergency service providers like Army Jamans, police, fire brigade personnel too came out to mark the fight against Coronavirus.

Despite PM Modi’s appeal to maintain social distancing, many people came out of their houses much like the Janta curfew day and fired crackers.

As on today, India has more than 3,500 Coronavirus positive cases and 80+ deaths. The nation went under the “total lockdown” on March 25 in an attempt to break the chain of transmission of the virus. Worldwide 1.2 million people have been infected and nearly 66,000 killed.
