New Delhi, January 31: Principal Economic Advisor Sanjeev Sanyal on Monday, in a press conference on Economic Survey 2021-2022, said that the economy is estimated to grow at 9.2% this current fiscal after a contraction of 7.3% in the previous year.
According to the survey, the Indian Economy, supported by widespread vaccine coverage, gains from supply-side reforms & easing of regulations, robust export growth & availability of fiscal space to ramp up capital spending, is expected to grow by 9.2% in the current fiscal.
Sanjeev Sanyal, while presenting the Economic Survey in a press conference said, “There has been a revival in economic activities to pre-pandemic levels in the year 2021-22.”
Furthermore, as per the survey, India’s GDP is projected to grow in the real term by 8-8.5% in 2022-23.
We will still be the world’s fastest growing economy. Even though the health cost of the second COVID wave was severe, the economic cost of it was much milder, said Principal Economic Advisor Sanjeev Sanyal.
Earlier on Monday, Economic Survey 2021-22 was tabled in the Parliament by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
