Innovation, Creativity and Competition Energise Galgotias University

Greater Noida News (08/04/2026): The first day of Unifest 2026, one of North India’s largest college festivals, began with tremendous enthusiasm and participation at Galgotias University’s Yamuna Expressway campus in Greater Noida. The opening day witnessed a vibrant mix of technology competitions, creative contests, gaming tournaments and robotics challenges, drawing participation from thousands of students across various institutions.

Unifest 2026, a three-day celebration of youth talent, innovation and creativity, is being organised by Galgotias Educational Institutions from April 7 to April 9. The festival is expected to attract more than 25,000 students from over 50 colleges across North India, turning the campus into a dynamic hub of student culture, competition and entertainment.

The first day prominently showcased students’ technical skills through a series of coding and technology-driven competitions. Events such as CSS Battle, Hacker’s Quest, IoThon and the Galgotias Programming League provided a platform for budding programmers and innovators to demonstrate their problem-solving abilities and technical expertise.

Participants worked on challenging coding tasks, innovative solutions and technology concepts, reflecting the growing interest of students in emerging fields of technology and digital development.

Robotics competitions emerged as one of the major highlights of Day 1, attracting a large number of spectators and participants. Events including Robo Chef, Robo Race, Robo Soccer and Robo Sumo showcased students’ creativity and engineering skills as they designed and operated robots to complete different tasks and competitive challenges.

Among these, the Bluetooth Grand Prix also gained significant attention, where students controlled Bluetooth-enabled robotic vehicles and competed in high-energy racing rounds, creating an exciting atmosphere around the venue.

Several media and creative competitions were organised simultaneously, encouraging students to explore their storytelling and content creation abilities. Events such as Reel O Radiant, Pixel Perfect, Uniwalk, Vlog-O-Twist and the “Unifest in 60 Seconds” Mini Vlog Challenge saw participants producing engaging visual content, photography projects and digital storytelling pieces throughout the day. These competitions highlighted the growing role of media, digital content and social storytelling among today’s youth.

Gaming enthusiasts also had the opportunity to showcase their skills through esports tournaments including the BGMI Tournament and Valorant Tournament. These competitions attracted strong participation and generated excitement among the student community, reflecting the rapidly expanding esports culture on university campuses.

The first day of Unifest 2026 concluded with a closing ceremony in the evening, where the organising committee felicitated the winners of various competitions. Prizes and certificates were awarded to the top-performing students who excelled in different events held throughout the day.

Delivering the vote of thanks, Student President Saksham Saxena expressed his gratitude to all the participating students, volunteers and club heads for their dedication and teamwork. He appreciated their efforts in successfully organising and executing the events of the opening day.

While Day 1 celebrated technology, creativity and competition, the festival will continue over the next two days with several cultural performances, contests and live entertainment events, culminating in grand musical performances on the main stage. With enthusiastic participation and energetic vibes across the campus, the opening day of Unifest 2026 set the tone for an exciting and memorable festival at Galgotias University.
