Intercontinental Legend Championship: Trans Titans halt Indian Warriors’ victory run, beat them by 5 wickets

June 2 Greater Noida : Trans Titans on Monday defeated Indian Warriors by 5 wickets in the ongoing Intercontinental Legends Championship here at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida.

Until now, the Indian Warriors had been unbeaten in the league, securing three consecutive wins and holding the top position. However, in today’s first match, Trans Titans handed them a 5-wicket defeat. Today’s game was extra special as the field lit up with the presence of renowned Haryanvi singer Masoom Sharma, famous for hits like “Loafer” and “Do Khatole.”

Trans Titans won the toss and opted to bowl first, a decision that proved spot on. Batting first for Indian Warriors, captain Priyank Panchal continued his excellent form, smashing 69 runs off just 39 balls with 5 fours and 5 sixes.

However, apart from the in-form Arun Chaprana (23), Shawez Khan (20), and Iqbal Abdulla (13), other batters struggled and couldn’t cross double digits. As a result, the team was bowled out for 187 runs.

Chasing the target, Trans Titans also faced early setbacks, losing 5 wickets for just 84 runs. However, a match-winning partnership between Sumit Verma and Naman Sharma turned the game around.

Sumit Verma remained unbeaten with a blistering 66 runs off 36 balls, smashing 5 sixes and 3 fours, while Naman Sharma provided solid support with an unbeaten 41 at a strike rate of 165, steering the team to victory.

Sumit Verma was awarded the Player of the Match for his stellar performance. Parvinder Awana also showcased brilliant bowling, taking 3 crucial wickets.

The Intercontinental Legends Championship (ILC), is featuring 6 teams from 6 continents. The 6 teams are African Lions, Trans Titans (Australia and New Zealand), Euro Gladiators, American Strikers, Asian Kings and Indian Warriors. The six iconic teams represent six global regions.

The league stage concludes on June 3, paving the way for the semi-finals scheduled for June 4 at 3:30 PM and 7:30 PM, respectively. The grand finale will be held on June 5 at 7:30 PM. The League organised by MVP Quest Private Limited and is managed by 100 Sports.
