Amity University Greater Noida in association with IEEE UP Section and LaTrobe University organised International Conference on Automation & Computation Engineering (ICACE 2018). The Conference was inaugurated by Prof. John Dewar, Vice Chancellor, LaTrobe University; Prof. Mike Hinchey, Chair IEEE UK & Ireland, President, International Federation for Information Processing, Ms. Simi Harding – Shorelight Education, Ms. Janet Kang, Director of Transnational Operations and Strategy – Shorelight Education; Mr. Dinesh Yadav, Additional SP, UPATS, Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Universities.

Prof. John Dewar, Vice Chancellor, LaTrobe University in his inaugural address said that India is a place full of energy and dynamism and whole Australia is proud of relation between India and Australia. Prof. Dewar added that the present era is an era of disruption, era of Industry 4.0. In this era, role of qualification is changing. The Formal Education leading to employment which leads to technology relevant skills and training. He presented the concept of University 4.0 which included Trusted Certifier; Trusted talent Advisor, Customised on Demand Educator and Physical Site of Collaboration.

During the Occasion, Amity University & Latrobe University “Centre of Eminence” was launched by Prof. John Dewar and entire delegation from Latrobe University.

Addressing the delegates of the conference, Prof. Mike Hinchey, Chair IEEE UK & Ireland, President, International Federation for information Processing said that this generation is using internet most of the time and remains online. There is threat of cyber security and all of us are equally vulnerable to it. Alex and such devices are capable of listening to us and giving data to their companies. Prof. Hinchey said that conference like this will definitely benefit all present with the threat of cyber crimes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Prof. Mike Hinchey also announced that Amity University will be the first Indian University to organized IEEE Conference at UK in April 2019.

Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Universities said that it is very rare occasion that academicians from best of the Universities are present during the Conference. The collaboration between Amity and LaTrobe University will bring together two universities in the area of Joint research, Internship Abroad Program, Joint Conferences. The Centre of Eminence which is launched today will facilitate the joint collaboration in Cyber Security and Data Sciences. Prof. Singh hoped that this conference is the stepping stone in organising more such conference with the collaboration of IEEE at London and other Amity Institutions at Dubai, New York
