Greater Noida News (25 August 2026): Students pursuing Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and Pharmacy courses at Ishan Ayurvedic Medical College visited the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, as part of an educational exposure programme aimed at strengthening their understanding of hospital-based healthcare, emergency management, clinical training and emerging medical technologies.
The educational visit provided the students with an opportunity to observe various aspects of healthcare delivery and gain practical insights beyond the classroom. The programme focused on familiarising them with emergency preparedness, hospital pharmacy operations, simulation-based clinical education and innovations in the healthcare sector.
The visit commenced with a session under GIMS VIDYA SETU, where Dr. Sonal conducted an informative and interactive session on Basic Cardiopulmonary Life Support (BCLS) and the management of emergency situations. The students were briefed on the importance of recognising medical emergencies promptly and initiating appropriate life-saving measures without delay. The session also highlighted the significance of preparedness, timely intervention and coordinated response in critical situations.
Following the emergency care session, the students visited the GIMS Pharmacy, where they were introduced to the functioning of a hospital pharmacy and its role in supporting patient care. They learned about the importance of pharmacy services in ensuring the appropriate management and availability of medicines within a healthcare institution.
The students subsequently visited the Skill Lab, where they were introduced to high-fidelity simulation mannequins and a range of modern clinical training equipment. The demonstration gave them an overview of how simulation technology is used to develop clinical competencies, improve decision-making and provide hands-on training in a controlled learning environment.
The final stop of the educational visit was the GIMS Incubation Centre, where the students were acquainted with various healthcare startups and innovations supported by the institute. They were introduced to emerging solutions in areas such as digital healthcare and medical technology, offering them an insight into the growing role of innovation and entrepreneurship in transforming healthcare delivery.
The visit proved to be an enriching academic experience for the students, enabling them to connect theoretical learning with practical applications. The exposure to emergency care, hospital pharmacy services, clinical simulation and healthcare innovation provided valuable insights into the diverse dimensions of modern healthcare and encouraged the students to broaden their understanding of patient care and emerging medical technologies.
