Bengaluru (Karnataka), 11/05/2023: Authorities at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) have completed the initial test for its most-powerful liquid-fuelled, Semi-cryogenic engine.

The agency will now proceed with a series of other tests planned to ‘validate the design of the propellant feed system, including the low-pressure and high-pressure turbo-pumps, the gas generator, and control components,’ said in a statement.

Once approved and ready, the 2000kN engine with 36Megawatt power will replace the country’s current LARGEST rocket – Launch Vehicle Mark 3(LVM3).

Completing this initial test now clears the way for over 7-8 engine tests, including a test firing of the newly constructed device.

ISRO took to Twitter to share the initiation of the testing process and the further tests conducted at the newly-established test facility at IPRC in the Mahendragiri region of Odisha.
