TN- Congratulations on today’s 16th anniversary celebrations of Jaypee Greens. How you feel ??
DPS- Thank u ..Jaypee Green Golf course we started operation in March 24, 2001 and we are celebrating 16th anniversary. We are celebrating it over two days 25-26 of March. We have 120 members playing on 25th and 120 on 26th March and in the evening we have organized entertainment program like cocktail and dinner. So this is really sought after event for our members and next year it will be even bigger. This year it’s for two days next year may be for three four days, eventual plan is to make it a week affair. By 19th anniversary it will be whole week of celebrations.
TN-What are the upcoming major events in Jaypee Greens?
DPS- We have lot of corporate events coming up, most of the events end up till March as in summer months events generally don’t happen. We will have lot of Indian Golf Events, Junior Events. But as far as corporate events are confirmed they happened almost around October.
TN- Tell us more about the Golf academy of Jaypee Greens?
DPS- We have a very good training academy, Mohnish Bindra one of the best coaches in the country is based here. He has lot of students, doing well internationally and country also. One example is Arjun Bhatti who just won the World Junior Championship, in which children from 21 countries participated.
TN-What are the big names related to Golf world, played in Jaypee Greens and What’s your marketing strategy?
DPS- We are trying now to get lot of Golfers to come and play in India, especially you see countries like Scandinavian countries where it’s cold in winters and they cannot play golf there, so we are trying to approach those markets that they should come and play here. We are trying to get across to them that India has good facilities, courses like Jaypee and we have good hotels to stay, we have spa so over all it’s a quality product. So we are trying to get across to them that it’s something about quality not some typical India you have.
TN- What you think Golf as a commercial market in India and Sub Continent?
DPS- Golf is doing very well commercially especially here, there are lot of corporate activity happened. Golf in NCR is particularly doing very well. We have 10-12 thousand international players who have played here in the last year.
TN- What’s your message for Upcoming Golfers?
DPS- It’s the best Golf course in the country, we have been awarded the best Golf course by the Ministry of Tourism twice. One of the year was 2014-15 and one was 2010-11. Just recently we have won India golf awards for 2017. So this is a different world and this game is very good. It’s good for your health and it’s probably play till any age of life. Those who are not playing should definitely try.
