Jesus and Mary Convent School, Gr. Noida celebrated its Annual  Sports Day on Saturday 8^th Oct. 2016. Mr. Nagendra Singh District Magistrate of GautamBudh Nagar, Gr. Noida, graced the occasion as the chief guest and Rev. Dr. Albert D’Souza archbishop of Agra Diocese,  and bishop Varghese of Kozhikodewere the guest of honour.Stressing the importance of sports in a studentslife,  Mr.Nagendra Singh said that, “There should be no partiality in the field of sports and only those should be given position of honour who deserves it due to their hard work and talent instead of making choices on the grounds of caste, religion or region”.Rev. Dr. Albert D’Souza also appreciated the students, management and the teachers for the wonderful programme.Marking the festive spirit of the season, students of all classes participated in what seemed like a festival of sports. Various sporting events like Obstacles race, Relay race gymnastics among others were conducted with great enthusiasm.Participantswere bubbling with energy and enthusiasm as they took part in these events. The highlight of the occasion was a cultural eventwhere the students captured the cultural diversity of India with a beautiful ensemble of dance from the rhythm of Bhangra to the colour of kathakali toserene beauty of Manipuri dance, students choreographed India’s rich ultural heritage.The function ended with a vote of thanks from Fr. Sebastian who expressed his gratitude to dignitaries and guest for making the function a huge success.
