Jiah Khan’s Mother expresses Disappointment on Verdict in Daughter’s Suicide Case

New Delhi (India), 11th May 2023: Jiah Khan’s mother Rabia Khan responded to the verdict given by the Special Court in Mumbai and referred to the entire trial as a “mockery of the judicial system”. This comes days after actor Sooraj Pancholi was cleared of accusations of abatement in the death case involving Jiah Khan.

Rabia Khan said, “This case was on the wrong track from the very beginning. All the evidence were pointing to homicidal death. Sooraj Pancholi was accused of the wrong crime to start with.”

Further expressing her exasperation, she said, “How can it be possible that police accused him of the crime when they had no evidence? All the evidence that I had given to CBI like forensic experts reports that pointed to murder was simply ignored and was never produced before the honourable court by the prosecution.”

While calling “the entire trial was a mockery of the judiciary system,” she said in the long ten years, both the police and CBI of India failed to find a single piece of legally relevant evidence for suicide. The burden of proof was so great that all parties had to be aware of the outcome even when nothing made sense legally or logically.

Rabia further said that since the commencement of the trial she had realised that CBI and the persecution had been compromised. Accusing Sooraj Pancholi she said that he “lied through his teeth.”

She said, “Sooraj was an accused and he lied through his teeth and both the agencies throughout honoured his lies for reasons best known to them. My daughter Jiah who is no more to speak for self was blamed, because that was very convenient for both agencies to blame the dead.“

Rabia called Sooraj merciless and called his act of distributing sweets in front of the courthouse disgraceful. She said the monsters that Sooraj lives with will one day force him to face them.
