Mumbai, 28th May 2023: Justice Ramesh D Dhanuka as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court. After taking office, he will have a tenure of Chief Justice for effectively four days.

State governor Ramesh Bais administered the oath of office of Justice Dhanuka at a brief swearing-in ceremony at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai. Additional Chief Secretary Manisha Mhaiskar Patankar read out the warrant issued by Indian President Droupadi Murmu.

The state leader of Opposition in the state legislative council, Ambadas Danve, Mumbai Guardian Minister Deepak Kesarkar and the judges of the Bombay High Court were among the senior leaders who were present at the occasion.

This comes as the position of Chief Justice in the state was vacant for quite some time after the elevation of Justice Dipankar Datta to the Supreme Court.
