Greater Noida, 13th April 2022: Kailash Multi-speciality Hospital’s Cardiology department has once again proved its excellence in the field of medical care by successfully treating a rare heart disease.

“We are really proud of Dr Sujeet Narain. All the doctors of our hospital have congratulated him for his commendable work. We will also feature him in our hospital’s magazine. We are really grateful to have him as a part of our team,” said Dinesh Sharma, Director, Kailash Hospital, Greater Noida.

Diagnosed in patient named Preeti Chauhan, who is currently below 40 years of age, the treatment happened under the very experienced cardiologist, Dr Sujeet Narain. He came across the case in September 2021, when the patient was experiencing breathlessness and irregular heartbeats. It was found that the patient was suffering from Dilated Cardiomyopathy which weakens the heart muscles affecting the function of the heart.

“The situation grew severe when Preeti had fallen unconscious. That is when we realised that immediate medical intervention was required. It was definitely a costly affair,” said Bhupesh Chauhan, patient’s husband.

After a few months of the treatment, in December 2021, the patient was again diagnosed with Ventricular Tachycardia, where the patient is at the risk of a sudden cardiac death. Following the diagnosis, another heart disease, Sarcoidosis was also suspected after a cardiac MRI. But all this was treated successfully by putting best medical practices to use.

“We have successfully planted a dual-chamber Intra-cardiac Defibrillator, now the patient has fully-recovered,” said Dr Narain, Cardiologist, Kailash Hospital, Greater Noida. It is quite difficult to treat Ventricular Tachycardia. There were some drugs that were not suitable for the patient, as a result we had to plant an ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) and administer drugs that successfully treated the disease,” added the doctor.

“Dr Sujeet is a great personality. We did not require a second opinion as the treatment was effective and the CCU team was very prompt in responding to the emergency situation,” Bhupesh told us.

Given severity of the issue and seriousness of medication, the patient, was allowed limited family interaction, however, the hospital staff kept her feel at home. “They would cheer me up and boost my morale whenever I felt sad or isolated,” said Preeti.

“The patient has now fully-recovered and been discharged from the hospital. We hope she has a happy and disease free life ahead,” stated B. K. Sharma, AGM, Kailash Hospital, Greater Noida.
